The Invitational Triples took place on a lovely, sunny Sunday with eight teams playing in a fiercely competitive and friendly competition.

Wellington, last year's losers, finished as runners-up in the main competition for the Webbers Shield with ISCA 1 taking the match. Wellington had led throughout but ISCA fought back and at 11 - 11 they won through. Monument finished a creditable third place.

The secondary competition for the Plate was won by Ottery St Mary with Honiton taking second place.

Geoff Sully captained Wellington with team members Eddie Gozna and Richard Brickles. Monument was captained by Kaye Clydesdale with Jo Beer and Maggie Milton.

Our thanks go to Webbers Estate Agents who donated bottles of prosecco for the winners and Caroline Swan presented the Shield and trophies with Rachel Fenwick.

We must also thank Geoff Sully for organising the competition and as always Sheila Phillips and Joan Coplestone produced an excellent buffet lunch, appreciated by all.
