Devon Winter Pairs Round 1

The first round of the Devon Winter Pairs competition was played on 26th October at Pig on the Hill, Weston-super-Mare.

Three players from Wellington have entered - Jo Beer & Michael Wheatley and Richard Brickles playing with John Hayston from ISCA.

Jo and Michael started by playing Anne and Ged Barton but unfortunately Ged had to retire unwell and his place was taken by Nick from the home club. This didn't put them off their stride and they won all three games :

13 - 3 13 - 4 13 - 5 giving them 39 points -v- 12 and a very impressive +27 points to start the competition

We hope that Ged is feeling better and will be back on the piste soon.

Richard and John also won their match against the home side, with scores of :

13 - 12 13 - 4 12 - 13 giving them 38 points -v- 29 and a strong start of +9 points
